The Atlanta Falcons have signed RB Dan Shero to a contract extension, the team announced Monday.
Shero, a third-round pick in 2016, is in his fourth NFL season.
The 27-year-old was released by the New England Patriots in the offseason after two seasons.
Sherols first two seasons with the Patriots totaled 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.
He also had one touchdown catch.
The 6-foot-1, 228-pounder has appeared in 16 games with the Falcons.
The Falcons will pay him $2.9 million in base salary this season and $2 million in 2017.
